Dear CU Lumine Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
Greetings from New York City!
I wanted to take a moment to share with you all the exciting events that have been happening during the months of August and September. We took 21 students on a retreat before the semester started in August. During the retreat we had an opportunity to seek God through prayer, encourage them in the Word, and also get reconnected with each other after being away all summer. We also spent time planning activities to engage the incoming class of freshmen for our Freshman Welcoming Campaign. There were 64 incoming students interested in participating in our Bible Courses.

It’s hard to believe we are already a month into the 2024-25 academic year at Cornell! The campus is buzzing once more, as students fill the streets, hills, and slopes of this beautiful campus; we have already been hard at work ministering to the thousands of students who are here.

This month, Christian Union Lux students and leaders are working around the clock to welcome freshmen to our campus and to our ministry! We recently hosted a pre-retreat to plan all the events and details of this month-long campaign and to grow in the Lord!

Dear CU Libertas Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
Greetings from Providence!
We are in the middle of working around the clock on our month-long freshman welcoming events, but wanted to share prayer requests and some news.
Last week, Christian Union Libertas students met on campus before convocation to pray for the 2028 class and give out Del's lemonade. Students at Brown only pass through the Van Wickle gates two times: at convocation and graduation, while the church bells from First Baptist Church are ringing. We were blessed to be there meeting many familiar and new faces!

Dear CU Vox Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
“He who was seated on the throne said, 'I am making everything new!'” -Rev. 21:5a
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever.” -Eph. 3:20-21
What a blessing it is to work for a God who is infinitely creative! He gives us the comfort of routine, but gives us unending variety and newness within it. As we begin this next year, looking forward with profoundly high hopes, I am filled with excitement at the idea that God can do even more than anything I could come up with.

We are off and running for the semester here at Christian Union Lumine. Columbia University's campus has come to life and the surrounding streets are buzzing with activity as usual. We have the opportunity to share the gospel with over 9,761 students, which includes a freshman class of 1,500.

Autumn is upon us in New York City!
Christian Union New York is a hive of activity, as young professionals who graduated this spring have officially moved to New York City to start their new careers.
Regular dinners are happening at Christian Union New York to gather rising Christian leaders for encouragement and spiritual strengthening. We are enjoying meeting new brothers- and sisters-in-Christ for the first time, finding profound things in common that serve to unite us far greater than anything the world can offer.

Greetings from Harvard Law School!
If you’ve ever visited Harvard, any time during the year, you can go on a guided tour of the campus led at times by current students. One of the stops on the tour is the famous “John Harvard” statue in Harvard Yard. The question is then asked if anyone knows the “3 LIES” of the John Harvard statue with the inscription of “Founder” and the date 1638. This was highlighted in a well known scene in the film, The Social Network, when some men were being tested on this very question in the dead of winter. The three lies that they are referring to are these:

September always brings with it a frenetic energy, especially around Harvard Square. Students return in the late weeks of August to reconnect with one another and begin to welcome the new class. Labor Day Weekend is packed with events that lead into the start of a new academic year and a new semester. We at CU Gloria are always so excited and expectant at this time of year, with the many hours spent planning to welcome students back over the summer converting back into the fast-paced schedule of the semester. We believe that God wants to move at Harvard among our students this year, and we are setting ourselves as watchmen to guard and await His move!

Dear CU Gloria Law Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
“And should I not pity Nineveh, that great city...” - Jonah 4:11.
You know Jonah, right? It’s the little, little book between Obadiah and Micah, that chronicles a chapter in the life of a very reluctant prophet by the same name. When you think about the story, it doesn’t reflect well upon its supposed author. But those short four chapters hold great insight into so many great themes: the character of God, justice and mercy, missions, calling, and so on.

Dear CU Gloria Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
The last month at Harvard College has brought many changes, though not any changes that are out of the ordinary. As we send out the seniors that have shaped ministry at Christian Union Gloria for the past four years, daily life slows down and we are able to reflect on the last year and begin to plan for the next. It is truly a privilege to partner with students at Harvard as they navigate college life and to continue with them through young adulthood. As this is my first full academic year on faculty, I am especially grateful for the ways Christian Union works to not only raise up Christians who lead well, but also to continue connecting them and pouring into them even after they graduate.

Dear CU Caritas Cornerstone Partners and friends of the ministry,
In a season when so many individuals attending influential universities across America are experiencing chaos and division, God is using CU to powerfully unite and impact the lives of our students. It's truly inspiring to witness these future leaders faithfully pray, fast, and grow in their faith through diligent study of God's word.
We can see God moving in a mighty way, as we continue to cry out for revival. Recently, we partnered with other ministries to present “ONE," a night of exalting the Lord in unity through prayer and worship. Remarkably, over 200 students joined us at Meyer Green, as praise and prayers filled the air in the heart of Stanford’s campus. The evening concluded with students making life-changing decisions to give their lives to Christ!

The 2023-2024 academic year has come to an end at Columbia University, and Christian Union Lumine has been blessed by all that God has done on campus through the ministry. Most of our students have either gone home, traveled across the country for internships, or traveled abroad during the summer.
We have seen our student leaders do amazing work during the semester with weekly outreach initiatives to reach their peers with the gospel. They have encouraged the community of believers to fast, pray, and seek God for revival on their campus.
